A proud native Texan, Mr. Phil’s musical journey began at the age of eight with the piano, but it was the guitar—discovered just two years later—that truly captured his heart. Raised in a family dedicated to early childhood education, he spent three decades immersed in the vibrant community of Plano, where his family operated child development centers.
Mr. Phil’s artistic foundation was built on a rich blend of voice, guitar, bass, and theatre, eventually leading him to earn a B.A. in Radio, Television, and Film Production. He brought that creative energy into the classroom as a high school teacher in the Frisco Independent School District, where he inspired students through media and the arts.
Driven by a deeper calling, Mr. Phil transitioned into ministry, serving as a worship pastor, tech director, and platform musician. His passion for youth development continued as he collaborated with children’s and student ministries to form and mentor student worship bands. His heart for service extended globally—teaching music and fostering creative expression in mission communities around the world.
Today, Mr. Phil is a professional one-man band, songwriter, and producer, performing across the DFW metroplex as part of a dynamic country duo. Offstage, he channels his craftsmanship into guitar building, working as a skilled luthier to create custom instruments that sing with soul.
Whether on stage, in the studio, or shaping the next generation of musicians, Mr. Phil brings a lifetime of artistry, mentorship, and Texas spirit to everything he does.
