Heather Parks

Piano

Heather Jewel Parks is an accomplished pianist, performer, piano instructor, singer/songwriter, and business owner. At the age of four, touching the piano for the very first time as she began her piano studies, Heather knew she had found a life-long passion.

At the age of 11, she became a church pianist, and in her late teen years, under the mentorship of her own piano teacher, she started teaching piano. As a high school senior, Heather wrote and performed an original arrangement of “We Shall Behold Him” and won second place in the A.C.E. National Piano Competition.

While studying music and business in college, Heather concertized throughout the midwest states, did collaborative work with vocalists and instrumentalists, and also performed a multi-city tour in the country of Russia. In 1999, upon college graduation, Heather moved to Texas and began her career as an independent piano teacher. What began with just a few piano students in the front room of her home, became what we now know as New Song School of the Arts, a fine arts school, located in Argyle, Tx.

Many of Heather’s private students have been multi award winners in festivals and competitions. A number of which have gone on to win scholarships, graduate with music degrees, and become career musicians ….and then, some others who just continue to love music to this day. Her latest educational achievement was co-writing a book with author and educator, Chad Johnson, a writer for Hal-Leonard Publishing.

Additionally, Heather continues her career as a professional pianist, performing regularly, accompanying church/school choirs, orchestras, and bands, and also writing/arranging her own piano solo arrangements.

More recently, Heather released an original solo album and a number of professional video projects. These projects featured her original arrangements, of which her rendition of “Hallelujah” was viewed around the world.

Amongst the greatest of all Heather’s interests and passions, is God and her family. Residing in Argyle, near Dallas, Texas, with her amazing husband and Co-Owner of New Song School of the Arts, along with their four wonderful children, Heather lives each day in pursuit of reaching her fullest potential.
