Heidi S.

Piano, Early Childhood Music, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, Woodwinds, Musical Theatre, Children's Choir
Ms. Heidi has pursued the joy of music for a lifetime—and she brings that same joy into every lesson she teaches. With the heart of a true educator, Mrs. Heidi is passionate about making music fun, engaging, and meaningful for every student. She creates a warm and welcoming environment in her music room, decorating it thoughtfully and customizing each lesson with care and creativity. Heidi began piano lessons at age six and joined the Texas Girls Choir at age eight, touring nationally for eight years. As a gifted flutist, she earned top honors at state competitions and led her high school marching band to success.

Her professional teaching experience includes faculty positions at New Mexico State University and Tarrant County College. She also served as Advertising Editor for the National Flute Association and was featured for her flute choir arrangements at the NFA’s annual convention in Nashville.

Mrs. Heidi has a gift for working with students of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs. She thrives in adaptive teaching environments and is deeply committed to helping each student feel confident and supported in their musical journey. Her time teaching piano and voice to hundreds of children in Guatemala—many of whom were separated from their homes and families—strengthened her belief that music brings healing, connection, and joy.

Now back in her beloved home state of Texas, Heidi teaches flute, woodwinds, voice, and piano at New Song School of the Arts, continuing her lifelong mission to share the joy of music with others.
