Student Must Audition to Determine Placement

Who Can Join?
● Any student with the ability to read music (Vocalists DO NOT need to know how to read music)
● Any student who shows maturity in lessons, with the ability to communicate and follow directions well
● Any student with a good sense of personal responsibility & practice ethics

Class Fee: 
NSSOTA Private Students – $65 monthly 
General Public – $80 monthly 

Vocal Varieties (Ages 6+)

A vocal ensemble, performance focused, choreographed setting, developing singers in genres, such as, but not limited to, musical theatre, jazz, pop, choral music, etc. 

Student will be placed appropriately per age/ability after audition.

  • Glee Club/Thursdays, 4:45pm OR Saturdays, 11:15 am
  • HeartSONG/Tuesdays, 1:00 pm OR Saturdays, 11:15 am

Chamber Orchestra (Age 7+)

A small orchestral setting for piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, and any orchestral instrument. Developing musicians to collaborate in orchestral style instrumentation. 

Student will be placed appropriately per age/ability after audition. 

  • InSYNC/Thursdays, 6;45 p OR Sundays, 3:40 pm
  • InTUNE/Wednesdays 10:00 am OR Sundays 3:40 pm

Garage Band (Ages 7+)

A garage band setting for guitar, drums, keyboard, ukulele, and voice. Developing musicians to collaborate in instrumentation, singing, songwriting, “gigging” and more. 

Student will be placed appropriately per age/ability after audition.

  • BandLIFE/Tuesdays – 7:00 pm (Age 12+)
  • BandLIFE JR./Wednesdays – 4:15 pm (Age 7-11)
  • JamLIFE/Wednesdays – 1:00 pm OR Tues 7:00 pm (Age 12+)

Meet the Teachers

Jack is a multifaceted musician who regularly performs repertoire across a variety of genres throughout both the Dallas-Fort Worth area and his native Seattle.
Heavily immersed in jazz, rock, pop, and folk styles, Jack has been sharing his talents in voice, piano, and saxophone with students for over 6 years. Beginning as a saxophonist turned vocalist, it was clear that his passion lay in voice after auditioning for his high school jazz choir in 2012. In 2015, he began furthering his study within the Jazz Voice program at the University of North Texas.
Since graduating with his degree from the University of North Texas, Jack has been invested in pedagogy and songwriting as his main pursuits in addition to the various groups he regularly plays with in the DFW area.

Sydney has an earned Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from University of North Texas an artist diploma from Macullum Fine Arts Academy. He is a trained pianist and vocal pedagogue. In addition to being a full time teacher at New Song School of the Arts, other job titles include: Pianist/Accompanist, Conductor, Music Director, Judicator, and Guest Artist. That being said, Sydney has worked with a number of organizations including: University of North Texas (pianist), various High/Middle School (teacher/pianist), Music Theatre of Denton (director/pianist), various theatre companies around DFW (pianist), Booker T Washington (judge), Mansfield Symphony Orchestra (pianist), various churches around DFW (pianist), etc. Since 2016, the bulk of his performing has been Musical Theatre Productions all over DFW including: Mary Poppins, Shrek, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sister Act, Evita, Patsy Cline, Big Fish, 9 to 5, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors, Cabaret, Will Rogers’s Follies, and many more.
