Mr. Rey is from the Rio Grande Valley, TX where he started playing clarinet at 11 years old in his middle school band. A big inspiration that drove his musical career to flourish was his family and his culture! Throughout his musical career, Mr. Rey has performed in various band ensembles and chamber groups. With a passion for music education and clarinet performance, Mr. Rey gives a great perspective on the versatile role any musician can take and wishes to share his knowledge with his students without selfishness or judgment. His goal by the end of his lessons is for a student to learn something new about themselves and the clarinet, no matter the age or experience.

Education and Accomplishments:

  • B.A. in Music Education – University of North Texas (graduates Spring of 2026)
  • UNT PAPICH Chamber Competition Finalist (2023-2024)
  • UNT Wind Symphony (2024-2025)
  • TMEA 6A All-State Clarinet Musician (2020-2022)
